FUN THINGS TO DO ON TREASURE ISLAND
Treasure Island, Florida, gets its name from supposed buried treasure, a clever gimmick popularized by an early hotel owner who buried and then discovered a couple of wooden treasure chests on the beach. Today, however, the area is a veritable treasure trove of sandy beaches, loads of fun activities, water parks, shopping destinations, chic restaurants and exciting beach bars that open up a world of thrilling adventure, excitement and fun!
You’ve got a whopping 35 miles of stunning beaches to explore! Head to the City of St. Petersburg Municipal Beach, which lies directly across from our resort, for beach games and water sports. Equally close by is Treasure Island Beach, known for its magnificent sunsets. Clearwater Beach, named TripAdvisor’s® #1 Beach in the U.S. for 2018, is another clear favourite.
From theme parks to children’s activities and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Head to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to see with animal actors from the famous Dolphin’s Tale movies, or spend a whole day at Adventure Island, Tampa’s largest water park! The Great Explorations Children’s Museum is another perfect spot to engage the little ones in exciting and enriching learning experiences.
Treasure Island is the perfect haven for all kinds of water sports. Because we have our own Treasure Bay Marina onsite at our resort, you can explore and enjoy numerous water sport options directly from our location! Explore the beautiful waters of Boca Ciega Bay, and go paddle boarding or kayaking at your leisure. You can also rent your own beach cruiser bicycle from our front desk or head to Madeira Beach – or, as the locals call it, Mad Beach – and St. John’s Pass Village for parasailing, boating and fishing tours!
Treasure Island and its surrounding areas are full of exciting locations that are well worth a full day trip. Head to Busch Gardens for thrilling roller coaster rides and to spend time with the more than 200 species of animals that live here. If you’re in a quirky, fun mood, the Dali Museum, with its surreal art, is perfect. There’re also lots of nature-related activities for you to try out, from visiting Caladesi Island State Park and its mangrove forest, exploring Fort de Soto Park or a visit to Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park.
JOHNS PASS VILLAGE
The perfect one-stop-shop for fun and entertainment, St John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk is Pinellas County’s number one tourist attraction – and for good reason! Come for a quick bite to eat or spend the whole day! John’s Pass Village has literally hundreds of shops offering everything from amazing shopping to great local food and brews, to fishing tours and boat rentals, to parasailing and jet skiing!

Further, the Innisbrook Resort has four acclaimed golf courses, and also hosts an annual PGA Tour Championship each March.

It’s no wonder we’re known as the Gulp Coast, because you can slake your thirst at more than 35 super-tasty breweries surrounding us! And in recent years, we’ve also seen some amazing craft wineries and distilleries popping up around the place, which are definitely worth a visit. Mastry’s Brewing Co., a family-owned brewery, is a good choice for award-winning beers and lovely wines, while Sea Dog is famous for its traditional English-style brews.
