Awesome Beach Hangouts That Don’t Require a Passport

Whether you’re visiting us from far away or just down the street, the beauty of Treasure Island lives up to its name. Our spot’s laid-back, fun-loving attitude makes it a favorite place to discover unique activities or simply soak up the sun on our sugary sand beach.

If you’re looking for a vacation where you can kick back with your feet in the sand and your eyes on the sunset, don’t reach for your passport. Instead, come to Treasure Island, Florida and enjoy our beach and these awesome beach hangouts.

Play Beach Blanket Bingo at Caddy’s Treasure Island

You don’t have to head to the islands to find the perfect beach bar with cool tunes and its own private beach. This fun hangout provides complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas to its guests because no one should have to leave the beach to enjoy their favorite beverage. Guests can also expect live music every night and beach yoga three times a week.

Visit the “Natives”

In addition to friendly locals, Treasure Island boasts a lot of wildlife you might not see in other parts of the world. Watch dolphins frolic from our bridges, on a dolphin cruise, or keep an eye out for them as you stroll the beach. We also have a wide variety of marine birds including cormorants, egrets, gulls, sandpipers, and pelicans.

From May to October, you could be lucky enough to witness our sea turtles nesting. These sizable creatures leave the gulf and crawl up the beach to dig their nests. They then lay about 100 eggs, cover them with sand, and return to the water. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and volunteer organizations cordon off these nests once they are discovered so that they won’t be disturbed. While the turtles hatching and returning to the water is a memorable sight to see, please give them plenty of room, don’t touch them, and refrain from photography that would involve a flash or bright light (as that disorients them).

Get Teed Off

Want to enjoy a round of golf along the water? You needn’t go all the way to St. Andrews. Treasure Bay Recreation Facility is the City’s waterfront recreation center overlooking Boca Ciega Bay. It features a 9-hole par-3 executive golf course, tennis, pickleball, and footgolf.

Hang with the Locals

Have you ever wanted to live at the beach, spending your days in the sun and saying things like it’s “five o’clock somewhere.”? You don’t have to escape to the Bahamas to lead this sort of laidback lifestyle. Ricky T’s is serving it up every night. With live music and plenty of outdoor seating, you can get to know the locals and try out the role for yourself.

Enjoy English Style Craft Brews

You don’t need to go to England to find beer brewed in the English style. At Sea Dog Brewing Company, you can enjoy high quality ingredients like English two-row malted barley and British top-fermenting Ringwood yeast. The waterfront restaurant also features a gulf-inspired menu perfect for the hunger you’ll work up with a day out in the salt air.

Whether you love the beach or prefer your beach vacation include something other than sand, there are many options in Treasure Island. This fun area provides plenty to do without having to venture far to do it.
