Holiday Traditions near Treasure Bay Resort and Marina

Our Favorite Things To Do Near Treasure Bay Resort and Marina on Treasure Island, Florida

The holidays are a time of year characterized by warm and fuzzy traditions that most of us look forward to every year. Whether those traditions look like visiting local holiday displays, driving around with your family looking at lights on houses, or new pajamas on Christmas Eve, it’s never too late to start making new ones! Here are some of our favorite holiday events taking place near Treasure Island, Florida this year.

1. Holiday Lights in the Gardens

Until December 31, the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo will be transformed into a “holiday paradise” for guests to enjoy between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. A donation of $4 is suggested for guests 13 and over, while guests 12 and under and parking is free. If you’ve ever wondered what a palm tree or flamingo made up of Christmas lights looks like, this display is right up your alley.

2. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens

Included in daily admission to Busch Gardens until December 31, Christmas Town visitors can enjoy more than two million twinkling lights, festive treats, and holiday shopping, all while having the opportunity to ride your favorite thrill rides. Do you think Santa would ride “Cobra’s Curse,” the park’s newest family spin coaster?

3. A Christmas Carol at Ruth Eckard Hall

You and your family are sure to love seeing the longest running touring production of Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic, “A Christmas Carol,” at Ruth Eckard Hall in Clearwater on December 18. Guests can choose between the matinee at 2 p.m. and the evening performance at 7 p.m.

Here at Treasure Bay Resort & Marina, one of our favorite traditions every year is to host a special dinner for all of our employees. We swap gifts for our “Secret Santa” gift exchange, as well as announce our employee of the year. “It’s a nice get together that we look forward to all year,” said Treasure Bay Resort & Marina Guest Service Agent, Dawn Levine. “Christmas time here at the resort is always fun.”

We also provide a delicious Christmas dinner for all of our employees that are scheduled to work on Christmas day. The dinner from Silas Dent’s Steakhouse in St. Petersburg, Florida includes a traditional turkey dinner complete with a piece of pumpkin pie. “It’s absolutely delish!” Levine said.

No matter what new or old traditions you decide to participate in with your family this year, we hope your holiday season is full of memories that you will treasure forever! Happy holidays from all of us here in Treasure Island, Florida.
