North Shore Elementary School Coffee Pot Turkey Trot

North Shore Elementary School in St. Petersburg will host a classic Turkey Trot from 7:45am to 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day.  This PTA hosted 5K run and walk is for all ages and celebrates the neighborhood school and a growing healthy school initiative.  Following the race itself will be an awards ceremony for both kids and adults. This community-driven, no frills race is a great way to get out and moving before diving into a large Thanksgiving lunch or dinner.

Tampa Bay Times 40th Annual Turkey Trot

In contrast to the North Shore Elementary School Coffee Pot Turkey Trot, the Tampa Bay Times version is a much larger event.  And, this year being the 40th Anniversary, you can expect it to be more fun than ever!  Races start at 7:00am on Thanksgiving Day, and there is a category for just about everybody!  All proceeds from race day are donated to many local charities, and teams will be onsite to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items as well.  This is yet another great way to get out and enjoy some more of The Sunshine State before settling down with friends and family for your own Thanksgiving festivities.

St. Pete Run Fest

You caught us – the St. Pete Run Fest isn’t technically a Turkey Trot.  However, it is one of the largest, most fun, and most celebrating running events of the fall in our beautiful corner of Florida.  The St. Pete Run Fest is a three-day festival held from November 11th to 13th with races for every level of runner and a slew of additional events and celebrations on the side.  The city of St. Petersburg will play host, and there is simply no better way to explore this beautiful space than by foot!

If you happen to find yourself itching for a Florida vacation toward the end of November, look no further than Treasure Bay Resort and Marina!  Our perfect location and caring staff will help to make your stay unforgettable, and by taking part in a Turkey Trot or the St. Pete Run Fest your Florida vacation will simply be one of the best.
