Summer is quickly coming to a close, and much of the hustle and bustle of the previous few months is also beginning to slow down. While we certainly appreciate the business and energy of the summer months here at Treasure Bay Resort and Marina, many of us agree that perhaps the best time to take a Florida vacation is in the fall. Temperatures are still very nice (especially for those visiting from the north) and the crowds are dissipating. While many of the area’s biggest events do take place between May and August, there are still plenty of fun and exciting things to look forward to in September. Check out these three festivals to add a little flare to your Florida vacation this September.
Geckofest is a highlight of every September and is the perfect local celebration to attend on your Florida vacation. Head down to Gulfport, a ten minute drive from Treasure Bay Resort and Marina, on September 1st between 10am and 10pm to partake in this classic Labor Day Weekend festival. Complete with local art, live music, delicious food, and fun and games for the entire family, Geckofest is a must-do. This year’s theme is Gecko Con! and will have a quirky superhero/comic book twist!
Good with Me Day Festival
Saturday September 15th marks the First Annual Good with Me Day Festival in St. Petersburg. Along with many other communities around the world, Good with Me Day in St. Pete aims to celebrate the value of every unique person on this planet. This will be a celebration of the individual and community through food, fun, and activities for the entire family. At the core of this celebration and growing movement is the nurturing and fostering of healthy lifestyles for all. Head over to Williams Park between 10am and 4pm on September 15th to join the movement!
Clearwater Super Boat Races and Festival
Looking to add some excitement to your time on the beach? Head up to Clearwater from Treasure Bay Resort and Marina during the last weekend of September to witness the annual Clearwater Super Boat National Championship and Festival. The festival will boast everything you would expect from such a big event, but the main attraction are the super boat races that happen just off shore in the Gulf of Mexico. These speed demons will race at speeds up to 180mph with 6,000 horsepower engines as they compete to be crowned national champions.
This time of year, things begin to slow down in The Sunshine State – which is all the more reason to plan your Florida vacation today! Visit us at Treasure Bay Resort and Marina this September and reap all the benefits of summer vacation without having to share them with nearly as many visitors!
