Visitors often come to Treasure Island for our sandy beaches and access to the Gulf of Mexico, the mainstays of a true Florida vacation. However, when they get here, they discover our local secret: most neighborhoods in Treasure Island are within walking distance of a beautiful park.

Some of our parks have direct beach access and viewing platforms to take in our breathtaking sunsets. Others have been designed as community green spaces, offering pleasant pathways, playground equipment, and covered picnic tables. All of them are regularly used throughout the year as residents and visitors alike find ways to get outside and enjoy our beautiful Florida weather.

Here are three parks you’ll want to check out during your stay at Treasure Bay Resort and Marina.

Sunset Beach Pavilion

8000 W Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706 – Directions

This beachfront pavilion is a classic example of Florida Vernacular Architecture. As its name suggests, it’s a popular spot in the evenings. With its protected dunes, shaded picnic area, and playground equipment, it’s also a great place to spend your day. It offers beachgoers bathroom and shower amenities, along with vending machines in case you run out of drinks or snacks. Just be aware that parking spaces are metered.

Sunset Vista Park

9750 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706 – Directions

In case you can’t tell, Treasure Island residents and visitors really love our sunsets. This park has an elevated sunset viewing platform, which was built in 2003. The beach side of the platform has both steps and ramps going down to the beach so that everyone can enjoy the ocean’s shore. Unlike Sunset Beach Pavilion, there is no parking at Sunset Vista Beach: you’ll have to get there via book or your own two feet. Also keep in mind that, although there is a shower for rinsing off sand and salt water, there are no bathrooms at this park.

Treasure Island Park

154 106th Ave, Treasure Island, FL 33706 – Directions

Connected to Treasure Island Community Center, this is Treasure Island’s largest park. If you want to take a break from the beach but still stay outdoors, this is the place to go. Throughout the year, it is home to several community outdoor events, including the Friday Morning Outdoor Market (which runs from December through April.) It also has a covered pavilion for get-togethers, benches scattered along its landscaped sidewalks, and an open fitness course for those who prefer to exercise outside.
