Do you get a thrill from speed? Consider yourself a daredevil when it comes to extreme sports? If this sounds like you, you must meet the race teams participating in the Bright House 2011 Clearwater Super Boat National Championship at Clearwater Beach Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2. Reaching extreme speeds up to 180 mph, racers are forced to have a two-person team just to steer and operate the watercraft. Racers will battle it out on a 2.5-mile-long race course on rough waters with upwards of 65,000 spectators lined on the beach watching the precision of the racers.
The action will begin Friday, September 30 at noon with the opportunity for spectators to get racer’s autographs and photos, eat some great food by Baystar Restaurant Group, and enjoy live entertainment. Friday’s events will continue with a Baystar Race Village VIP Party with tickets available for purchase as well as a “Blast Friday” Block Party and live performance by “Orleans.” This is just a taste of what Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce has planned. Saturday and Sunday you will see the boat championship unveil with a tough competition of speed as well as events including the 2011 Miss Clearwater Super Boat Trophy Girl Pageant, Make-a-Difference Foundation Fishing Tournament, Coast Guard Search & Recuse Demonstrations, live entertainment, and more! The Bright House 2010 Clearwater Super Boat National Championship was a success, but this 2011 event is expected to be even better and faster!
