Treat Yourself in Treasure Island
We could be wrong, but we’re pretty sure one of the best parts of going on vacation is strategically planning all of the places you will indulge, because that’s just what you do when you’re on vacation. We’re here to remind you that vacation is the ideal time to treat yourself, and that’s why we have compiled a list of our favorite places to grab dessert in the St. Pete, Tampa Bay, and Treasure Island area!
- Super Scoops – Within walking distance of our hotel you will find Super Scoops, a family owned and operated ice cream shop that will be sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. From rich, creamy soft serve and homemade waffle cones to banana splits and candy, Super Scoops has something for everyone. If you really feel like ditching the diet for an evening, we suggest a sundae topped with homemade brownies. If you walk, you probably burned enough calories to get that second scoop, right? We definitely think so. This place is a true Treasure Island classic and we are proud to support this locally owned and operate business.
- (Swah-rey) – Located in nearby St. Petersburg, this dessert bar features house-made desserts in large and mini size desserts. (Swah-rey) is committed to its customers and the community in which it is located, so if you are looking for a true St. Pete experience, this is definitely the place for you. Cakes are available by the slice or in a mini version, and flavors vary depending on the day. Perhaps the day you visit they will have Miss Scarlett’s Red Velvet Cake available — a smooth red velvet cake topped with decadent cream cheese icing and scarlet-red sugar. If you’re not in a cake mood, how about their Chocolate Cream Pie In-a-Glass? It’s exactly what it sounds like, and it sounds delicious. (Swah-rey) also boasts an impressive variety of cheesecakes and flavors of crème brûlée. This place is just one of the many benefits of staying at the best St. Pete Beach hotel in the area!
- Mini Doughnut Factory – Voted Tampa Bay’s best doughnuts, Mini Doughnut Factory doesn’t mess around. Their signature doughnuts are topped with unusual items such as cereal and candy. If you don’t see a doughnut that strikes your interest, you also have the option of creating your own. If a mini doughnut won’t satisfy that sweet tooth, one of their doughnut shakes (two doughnuts blended into a vanilla milkshake topped with whipped cream and an additional mini doughnut) or one of their doughnut sundaes (three doughnuts layered in their homemade vanilla ice cream). Mini Doughnut Factory also has beverages such as tea, coffee, or smoothies to choose from. There’s plenty of variety at this shop, all centered around the sweet, fried dough we have all come to love: the doughnut.
If there is ever a time to cheat on your diet or forget counting the calories, it’s definitely on vacation. We believe in creating truly memorable experiences for our guests, and eating like a local is just one of the ways we try to do that!
