If we do see you this fall, consider catching an NFL game at Raymond James Stadium – home of our beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There are plenty of reasons that a day trip to watch the Bucs would make a great addition to your vacation. Continue reading for a small taste of why!

The Atmosphere at Raymond James Stadium

It’s hard not to get caught up in the energy at live sporting events, and the NFL is home to some of the most fun and passionate fans around. Raymond James Stadium and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are no exception. Built in 1998 this relatively new state of the art stadium holds over 65,000 screaming Buccaneers fans during each home game, and the surrounding pregame and postgame festivities are almost as fun as the game itself. What truly separates Ray Jay from other NFL stadiums, however, is the 100+ foot long pirate ship in the north end zone. Replica cannons and pirate music play at specific times throughout the game and really add to the ambiance.

The Schedule

The Buccaneers are off to a hot 2-0, defeating the perennial powerhouse New Orleans Saints and defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles already this season. If watching this team continue to win doesn’t interest you, maybe your home team is in town this fall or winter – creating the perfect excuse for an escape to the Tampa area. This season, the Bucs have yet to play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Atlanta Falcons.

The Quarterback Battle

Jameis Winston has been the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback for the past two seasons and, as a Heisman Trophy winner in college, this young athlete has shown a lot of potential. However, the 2018 season has started on a sour note for Winston has he serves a three game suspension. In his wake, Ryan Fitzpatrick has stepped in and led the Bucs to a 2-0 start throwing for over 400 yards in each outing and a total of four touchdown passes. What is going to happen when Winston’s suspension complete? Will Fitzpatrick go 3-0 and lose the starting spot? Diehard fan or not, now is an exciting time to be paying attention to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

No matter what is bringing you to Treasure Bay Resort and Marina this fall, catching a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game during your stay should be on your list. If you have ever had an interest in attending an NFL game, this fall could be your ticket. Don your best red and black and head down to Raymond James Stadium to see for yourself what the fuss is all about!
